Tubular 80s | 2 Patterns Review

As you can probably guess from the title that the post is going to be about patterns (and fabric)  from the 1980s. But before I get to that let's go a bit back to last (last )week.

Like I said in my prior post, last week I had the opportunity to go to Niagara Falls. On my way back home we stopped at a thrift store in Brockville, ON. As I had been to that thrift store before and found some great (I mean great) fabrics and pattern, I entered the store looking specifically for sewing items. And what I found surprised me. There was a small ironing board on sale for $5 and lots of fabrics!

Summer Holidays | Week 3 + 4

So, you probably noticed that I didn't do a weekly summary for week 3. The reason why is that I didn't do anything exciting or out of the ordinary. I actually spent 3/4 week inside. But there were some things that happened worth mentioning.
The last weekend in July I went to Toronto for a conference and afterward went down to Niagara Falls. It was gorgeous and I will write a post on it soon. Unfortunately, there was one casualty... my water bottle, I put it down then promptly forgot about it. Therefore I lost it *sigh*

Last week it was my 19th birthday!
That Monday was very hot. humid day. My parents got the cake from Adonis and it tasted like heaven. Their cakes are worth trying, but that day I also bought a cheese from them and when I had eaten 1/3 of it I started feeling queasy and nauseous.

BzzAgent: P & G Product Review | The Cami Way

I love free products, don't you?
For those who do not know, I have a review blog (fashion, film, products) and I keep it separate from this blog. I have been thinking of joining the two together but I'm not sure if I should. It's called The Cami Way, in part because my family always say that I do things my way.
Earlier this year I joined BzzAgent, a program that will send products based on your interests and on the product campaign. Last month (June) I got my first campaign and I couldn't believe I had been accepted into it. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you have probably already seen the posts I did review the products, but I also wrote a post on them.
Here is an excerpt:

*Disclaimer: The opinions and thoughts expressed in this blog are solely my own. I was given these products for an honest review and were not influenced by the company in any way, shape or form.*
I received more than I expected and was ecstatic to put them to work.

They were mostly given to those who live in QC because the overall idea is getting ready for moving day which here is July 1st (Canada Day). It was my first July 1st where people instead of celebrating Canada they move. The products are to help clean, get ready and make moving less stressful than what it is.
These were full-size products and so they I was able to try them out to their full extent. And that they were free? Yes, please! Here is my honest review.

Convertible Backpack/tote/Crossbody | Made from Scratch

Another hot week, another project. Has the weather let up where you live? or is it winter now?

As for me for the last couple of weeks, I have been thinking of making a bag. Any kind of bag, as long as it fits things inside. I couldn't think of anything but then I remembered the time I was in the metro and saw a bag that would forever change me (not to be dramatic).
It was a backpack that converted into a tote and I loved it. You have probably seen it its the Fjallraven Totepack and it's super cute. But since I wasn't going to spend $135 I thought I would make my own convertible bag but it would be able to become a crossbody/messenger bag. And so I did.

Summer Holidays | Week 2!

We're halfway through July!
This past week I actually didn't go out a lot. Between the heat, sewing, and social awkwardness I just decided to spend most of my time at home. But I did do a couple of things (and found Amani!) this week worth mentioning.

I love going to thrift stores. You never know what you're going to find! I especially love finding books and fabrics, my two passions. I love going to Goodwill store because of 1.I don't pay taxes 2. They give jobs to mentally/physically challenged people.
Last week I went to a Rennaissance which is run by Goodwill Industries. There I went straight to the fabric/linen/craft session and found what I was looking for... fabric! I found this nice cotton linen fabric $4 for 3.80meters! It came with 4 buttons. I also bought a meter of hard denim fabric for $2 and it's super wide.

Dungarees without Pattern | Made from Scratch

Wow, it's been a week I can not for the life of me believe that it's already the second week in July! That means that my birthday is coming soon, very soon. It has cooled here in QC so now it's about 30℃. Nothing overly new has happened, except that I made a pair of dungarees! And I'm in LOVE!
For the last couple of months years, I have been thinking about getting an overall type of jumpsuit but when I had the opportunity I would say no. But recently I decided that I was going to sew a jumpsuit. Why not? I have the time and fabric to do it. And so I did.

Summer Holidays 2018 | Week 1

I feel like for the summer I should do a weekly review of what I did (what I didn't do) besides my blog posts. Like a diary of sorts, I just hope to do this in a way to help me to do more this summer. My plans are to sew something, bake, and read a book each week this summer.
I hope you enjoy :)

So last week it was Canada day and like I said in my last post I spent it all by myself. Turns out here in QC all rent leases are over at the end of June, meaning that moving day is July 1st. I was shocked by this, for as a Canadian that felt somewhat like a slap in the face. Anyway, that Sunday I woke up got ready to go to church when I come down to realize that everyone is dressed to go to work, not to church. Turns out that friends of my parents were moving and they had not told me about it (maybe they did, but I forgot) and since they were short on time I couldn't change and was left behind. It was also one of the hottest days, it was about 38℃ with lots of humidity. All alone with a cake, I had made (which I forgot to take a finished picture). It was a long day, but the friends finally moved to a bigger place and my parents helped them move and be there for them.
